Candolim is a short distance from Daublim international Airport (about 45 minute drive) and is at the start of a long beach leading up to Callangute and Vagator. The beach is long and bleak but the interior is typical Goan with large portuguese fall apart with small churches crowding the coco palms.

This area has many hotels and you find a bargain such as Demello Seaview or Shanu's offer rooms in restored Portuguese mansions by the sea side. Could be preferable to a beach hut for some but this area lack in the green jungle that you find in the south of Goa.
